NFL DraftKings tournament picks for Sunday’s (October 18, 2020) Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game
Hello DraftKings players, I’m back again with more NFL DFS DraftKings tournament picks. This time for the undefeated Packers vs Buccaneers game. I already did one of these for the Falcons/Vikings game, and you can find all of my picks at this link.
These are usually made early, so be sure to look at the latest injury reports. I lead off with a showdown pick, just ignore that if you don’t play in those. The player advice/info is still the same.
Check out the latest line & over/under and then on to the picks-
Packers -1.5, O/U is 54 points.
Green Bay Packers (4-0) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) NFL DraftKings Showdown Captain Pick
Tom Brady, Buccaneers QB (DK $10,200)
Brady’s had 9 TD’s and 1 INT over his past 3 games and now he’s getting Chris Godwin back. I think Brady will be lesser owned than Aaron Rodgers and is almost 1K cheaper. The Packers Defense isn’t great and they’re better against the run (ranked 8th overall) than the pass (18th).
If I were making a risky play, I’d go with Ronald Jones II here.
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL DraftKings Showdown Flex Picks
Aaron Rodgers, Packers QB (DK $11,000)
Rodgers has been a machine this season, averaging 27.5 DK FPTS a game. He has 12 TD’s and 0 INT’s with a QB rating for the year of 128.40. He also just came off a bye, but he’s facing a very good Tampa Bay Defense. Still, it’s hard to fade Rodgers right now. But if you do, it could pay off nicely since his ownership (I’m guessing) will be incredibly high.
Aaron Jones, Packers RB ($9,400)
Jones will be facing the best defense in the league against the run (Tampa’s allowing just 58 rushing yds a game). So I’m expecting his ownership to be lower than usual. But he already has 6 TD’s this season, if he gets shut down in the run game, he could still catch a few passes and/or pick up another TD.
Mike Evans, Buccaneers WR ($9,000)
Evans has had at least 1 TD in every game this year and is averaging 18 DK FPTS. I’m afraid with all his weapons back, Brady will be spreading it around and none of the WR’s have a big game. I may fade them all and just go with Brady but if I’m taking one it’ll be Evans.
Ronald Jones II, Buccaneers RB ($7,800)
Jones II has been great over the last 2 weeks averaging 20 DK FPTS a game. With back to back games with over 100 rushing yds, plus 9 catches on 14 targets. He could lose a few targets to the returning LeSean McCoy, but I like the price and think he’s a pretty safe bet to have a good game. Leonard Fournette is questionable, I’m not expecting him to play. But if he does, I may rethink this.
Robert Tonyan, Packers TE ($7,800)
Last Packers game I played Tonyan at captain and that sure worked out after he scored a ridiculous 3 TD’s. I don’t see that happening again but he was already trending up heading into that game. Davanta Adams return could hurt him, or maybe it opens up the field more for him? I don’t know, but I’m rolling with him again here.
Mason Crosby, Packers K ($3,800)
Crosby is averaging 11.5 DK FPTS and I normally like taking a kicker, esp against a good defense like TB. GB could be held out of the end zone more than usual.
Jamaal Williams, Packers RB ($2,600)
He had a big game last week with 8 catches for 95 yds. I’m not expecting that again but he’s averaged over 8 DK FPTS in 3 out of 4 games this year.
LeSean McCoy, Buccaneers RB ($200)
He’s back this week and averaging 2 catches a game and 4 DK PTS this year. Nothing special but he’s the absolute minimum DK price.
Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL DraftKings Notes
I was considering Bucs TE Cameron Brate at $4,400. But I think he could be highly owned after last game, Packers D is good against TE’s and again Brady has more of his weapons this week. He’s def still worth a look at that price tho. Also, Bucs WR Scotty Miller dropped from $6600 to $4,200 after 0 catches last week. His ownership could be really low and he’s got upside.
