A two-hour “20/20,” with reporting by anchor David Muir, features interviews with Erin DeRoche and Kati Reynolds, daughters of Karl Karlsen, who nearly got away with the murder of his wife and son in incidents occurring nearly 18 years apart.

Reynolds and DeRoche open up to “20/20” about the heartbreak they felt after losing their mother, Christina Karlsen, and brother, Levi Karlsen; their relationship with Karl over the years; their constant suspicion that Karl started the house fire that killed Christina; the horror they felt when they realized Karl killed Levi; and their lives now with Karl behind bars.

The program details Karl’s bold motivation that prosecutors say fueled the two murders; how he managed to avoid punishment for Christina’s murder for nearly 30 years, despite evidence of arson; how he almost got away with Levi’s murder; and the shocking speculation about who could have been his next victim.

“20/20” also features interviews with family members close to the story including Mike Karlsen, Karl’s brother; Colette Bousson, Christina’s sister; Art Alexander, Christina’s father; and Cindy Best, Karl’s ex-wife, whom he married after Christina’s death.

ABC News’ “20/20” is an award-winning primetime program anchored by David Muir and Amy Robach. David Sloan is senior executive producer. Janice Johnston is executive producer.
ABC: 20/20 Event Special “Sins of the Father” | July 9 2021. DiscussPW Pro Wrestling & Entertainment Events. * There have been major changes to our events calendar due to the coronavirus pandemic. We started this calendar years ago with pro wrestling events. Then added some other live sports and entertainment events. The goals were to help sell live tickets for all kinds of events. Also, to help fans finds events and tickets easier. And then the virus happened and live events stopped for a while. So we had to change things up and we added a lot of televised events (aka tv shows). Along with movie trailers, promos, etc. But now live events are happening again, so we’re back to adding those. The calendar will be a bit of a mess with events, tv shows, etc. But there’s a lot of info on there. Our event pages have ticket, venue info and more. But some have a lot more and are basically event previews. It depends on the information available, if we’re able to update that event, etc. All photos are used for promotional purposes only. If this is your event and would like anything added, removed or changed.
