Jay’s DFS (Daily Fantasy Sports) Starting Pitchers picks for Major League Baseball games on Wednesday, April 21, 2021
What’s up all, I’m back again with more straight up MLB fantasy picks. These are just a few of my favorite overall starting pitchers for the April 21st games, no matter the DraftKings or Fanduel prices. I’ve done pretty well with the few of these I’ve written this year. Especially with starting pitchers, so I’ll just be focusing on them this time. You can find of all of my previous picks/columns at the link.
Enough BS, let’s do it!
Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers Picks for April 21st
Max Scherzer, Nationals
After a rough first game, Scherzer has only given up 1 ER over his last two in 13 innings. I usually try not to pick the top obvious players, but I’m not liking many in this group of SP’s today.
Zach Eflin, Phillies
Eflin has pitched really well this season, he’s 1-0 3.15 with 16 K’s & 2 BB’s in 20 INN. Both of his quality starts this year have come at home and he’s facing the Giants who are 11-6, but mostly due to their pitching.
Ian Anderson, Braves
Anderson has pitched decent so far. He’s gone 5 INN and picked up 6 K’s in each of the three games he started. I normally don’t recommend many SP’s at Yankee Stadium. But they’re really struggling early on, near the bottom of the AL in runs scored. Anderson is 1-0 1.50 ERA in his only previous start against the Yanks.
David Peterson, Mets
Peterson had a bad opening game at Philly, but came back a week later and shut them down (1 ER & 10 K’s in 6 INN). Right now the Cubs are last in MLB batting .192 and tied for 2nd to last in runs scored. I like him, but I’d like him more if he was at home.
Two others I kind of like that didn’t make the cut above, are the Royals Jake Junis and the Reds Trevor Mahle.
These picks are made ahead of time. Be sure to check for rain and whatever else…good luck!
Disclaimer Thing- I’m no expert, I’m not even a writer. But I enjoy doing these and sometimes I get things right.
