Jody Hill Directs Episode 4 of James Gunn’s “Peacemaker” | Airs 1/20/22

The first three episodes for the John Cena led series “Peacemaker” have been released on HBO Max. It’s a spin-off from James Gunn’s “Suicide Squad” film, all season 1 episodes were written by James Gunn.

He also directed the first three episodes, and Jody Hill will take over directed duties for episode four. Hill is the co-creator, director and executive producer of the HBO series’ “Eastbound & Down”, “Vice Principals”, and “The Righteous Gemstones”. “Eastbound & Down” is one of the funniest comedies I’ve seen and Kenny Powers is an all-time great character.

Episode four of “Peacemaker” streams January 20, 2022, only on HBO Max.

About Peacemaker, let me start off by saying I enjoyed Gunn’s “Suicide Squad”, but I was expecting a bit more. And it didn’t do great at the box office, so I was kind of worried as a fan. Cena did a great job in the movie tho and he really takes it to another level with this series. After three episodes, it’s one of the most fun comic shows I’ve ever seen.

The comedy is similar to Deadpool, but Cena’s Christopher Smith/Peacemaker is such an odd character I’m not sure if there’s anything to compare it to. But it’s not just funny, Gunn also gets us to care about Smith/Peacemaker, who comes off like one of the biggest dickheads ever.

“Peacemaker” also has an interesting story, well-rounded cast and maybe the funniest intro’s ever. If you’re on the fence, give it 20 mins and I bet you’ll be hooked.

Peacemaker explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of Gunn’s 2021 film “The Suicide Squad”– a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Based on characters from DC, Peacemaker will be produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Stream over 10,000 hours of new hits, classic favorites, and exclusive HBO Max™ Originals. Stream all of HBO together with even more from Warner Bros., DC, Studio Ghibli, and more. Critically Acclaimed Docs. Culture-Defining TV. Hit Movies. Award-Winning TV Series.

DiscussPW is a mix of Pro Wrestling and Entertainment. The site was started in 2017 and has gone thru many changes over the years. Our main focus was events and tickets, but then the pandemic happened. We had to mix things up and will now be doing a lot more news. Events will still be covered, just as news instead of on a calendar. This site had an extensive events calendar, which we have moved away from. Pro wrestling has always been our main thing, we also do a lot of entertainment though. For example, we post movie trailers, tv previews and other kinds of news. We have a few discussions but strongly encourage comments on all of our posts. Be sure to keep things civil while commenting. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us above.
