NBA 2021 Playoffs Grizzlies vs Jazz Gm 1: DraftKings Showdown Picks

DraftKings DFS showdown tournament picks for Sunday’s (May 23, 2021) NBA playoff game 1 between the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz

Welcome all, I hope you’re having a wonderful day or night. These are my NBA DraftKings tournament picks for the Grizzlies at Jazz opening round playoff game 1 on Sunday May 23rd, airing at 9:30PM ET.

For anyone new, you can check out all my previous columns at this link. You can also find me on Twitter at JaySox420, I don’t use it much, but I’ll always talk fantasy sports. Also, I posted a “best NBA dunks” video above, simply cause I thought it was cool and you can all check it out. Alright that’s enough BS, let’s do this!

Grizzlies at Jazz DraftKings Showdown Tournament Captain Pick

Mike Conley, Jazz PG/SG (DK $7,600)

Conley’s last game was only his second game back after missing nine due to an injury. But he looked great scoring 39 DK FPTS in just 21 minutes. The last time Conley played (his old team) Memphis, he put up 48.5 FPTS.

I’m sure he’ll be highly owned at that price, but not too high in the captain spot. I’m guessing under 10% with Ja Morant getting a huge amount of ownership at captain, then Rudy Gobert and Jonas Valancuinas with a good amount.

I also like the currently questionable Donovan Mitchell, if he plays of course. He missed the final 16 games of the year and he’s very expensive at $10,400, so I don’t think he’ll be very highly owned at captain. He also scored over 50 DK FPTS in back-to-back games vs Memphis late in March. And in one of those games, he only played 28 mins.

Value Picks

Jaren Jackson Jr, Grizzlies PF ($5,400)

Jackson only played 15 minutes after being in foul trouble all game, scoring just 16.5 DK FPTS. I’m thinking that could have his ownership lower than usual, and he should bounce right back. Also, his price on DK dropped around 2K.

Royce O’Neale, Jazz SF/PF ($4,200)

O’Neale averaged a solid 22 DK FPPG this season, playing 32 mins per game. He didn’t have many double-doubles but he’s always a threat, averaging 7 points & 7 rebounds per game this year.

Brandon Clarke, Grizzlies PF/C ($4,000)

Clarke only played 14 minutes against GS in the play-in, scoring just 5.3 DK FPTS. Before that, he scored over 20 DK FPTS in seven of his previous nine games. Including a game where he scored 34.3 DK FPTS in just 19 minutes.
