DraftKings showdown tournament picks for Monday (March 1, 2021) night’s NBA game between the Charlotte Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers
Welcome or welcome back, I hope you’re all doing well on this first day of March. I’m right back at it with more NBA DFS DraftKings showdown tournament picks. Tonight the 15-17 Hornets head to Portland to take on the 18-14 Blazers at 10:30PM ET airing on NBA League Pass. Check out the latest line and my picks below.
Latest line has the Lakers -3 & the Over/Under is 221 points. If I were a betting man, I’d take the Lakers and the Over.
Charlotte Hornets at Portland Trail Blazers DFS DraftKings Showdown Tournament Captain Pick
Terry Rozier, Hornets PG/SG (DK $9,200)
Rozier has been slumping a bit since scoring over 50 DK FPTS in three straight games in the middle of February. Last night, he really struggled scoring only 8 points on 2-9 shooting with 4 assists, 4 rebounds & 5 turnovers). But he’s due for a big game, maybe this is it.
For anyone new, this is basically my strategy for most large showdown tournaments. Taking a player who isn’t one of the top options at captain and hope they have a big game. It leaves enough DK $ to stack the rest of your team. Obviously it’s risky, but you won’t end up tying tons of other players if you win or place high in a big tourney.
DraftKings Showdown Tourney Utility/Value Picks
Robert Covington, Blazers PF/C ($7,800)
Covington has been struggling, he’s shot 0-9 from three and 1-13 overall over his last two games. But that happens with shooters and maybe he’ll get hot tonight. Worth a shot since his ownership likely won’t be very high right now.
Miles Bridges, Hornets SF/PF ($5,200)
Last night with Gordon Hayward out, Bridges scored 13 points with 9 rebounds & 4 assists in 33 minutes. As of now, Heyward is questionable for tonight.
Rodney Hood, Blazers SG/SF ($1,000)
Hood’s playing time is down but he’s still seen at least 17 minutes in every game except one in February. Worth a look at the absolute minimum price on DK.
Disclaimer Thing- I’m no expert, I’m not even a writer. But I enjoy doing these and sometimes I get things right.
