DraftKings DFS showdown tournament picks for Monday (May 3, 2021) night’s NBA game between the New York Knicks and Memphis Grizzlies
So I haven’t done many NBA picks recently, due to so many players resting. I’ll be back doing more when the playoffs start. These are DraftKings tournament picks for the Grizzlies at Knicks game tonight, airing at 9PM ET on MSG and League Pass.
Knicks at Grizzlies DraftKings Showdown Tournament Captain Pick
Julius Randle, Knicks PF/C (DK $11,400)
I don’t often take the highest priced player for large tourneys, especially if it’s the 2nd game in a back-to-back set. But Randle has the most upside here, and he’s recently had monster games in the 2nd of back-to-back’s. He went for 67.3 DK FPTS on April 21st and 57.5 FPTS on April 12th.
Ja Morant is another option I like at captain. He’s been held below 36 DK FPTS over his last three games, which could keep his ownership down. I’m thinking some of that moves over to the similarly priced Valanciunas, who had 49 DK FPTS the last time these teams met. Also, RJ Barrett has been playing well and seeing a lot of minutes. Usually I’d mention a lower priced captain pick, but I’m not liking any here.
Immanuel Quickley, Knicks PG/SG ($4,000)
Quickley’s scored over 20 DK FPTS in three straight and five of his last six games. One of those was the 2nd of a back-to-back set (29.5 FPTS), like we have here.
Tyus Jones, Grizzlies PG ($1,400)
Jones is averaging 15 DK FPPG over his last two. Nothing special, but could be useful near the minimum price with very low ownership.
Obi Toppin, Knicks PF/C ($1,000)
Nerlens Noel left last night’s game with a sprained ankle, he’s questionable at this point. If he’s out, that should lead to more minutes for Obi. Last night with Noel out most of the game, Topin played 17 mins. That’s the most he’s played in a while and had a decent fantasy game with 5 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.
Disclaimer Thing- I’m no expert, I’m not even a writer. But I enjoy doing these and sometimes I get things right.
