NFL DraftKings Showdown tournament picks for Sunday night’s (November 8, 2020) New Orleans Saints (5-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) game airing on NBC
Welcome all, I’m back again with more NFL DFS DraftKings tournament picks. This time it’s for Sunday night’s New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game, airing at 8:20PM ET.
Latest line has the Buccaneers -4.5, Over/Under is 50.5 points.
These picks are made early, be sure to check the latest injury reports.
New Orleans Saints (5-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) NFL DraftKings Showdown Captain Pick
Michael Thomas, Saints WR (DK $9,800)
Thomas will reportedly make his return this week. Last year he led the NFL in receptions, targets and yards. Usually I’d wait and see a week since he’s been out basically all year. But I think that’ll keep his ownership relativity low. Plus, I expect the Saints to be passing a lot since TB Defense is #1 in the league against the rush.
If Thomas happens to miss the game, I’d move WR Emmanuel Sanders to captain. And if I were taking a safe captain’s pick, it’d be Tom Brady.
New Orleans Saints (5-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) NFL DraftKings Showdown Flex Picks
Alvin Kamara, Saints RB (DK $11,200)
The TB rush defense only gives up 70 yards a game, they held Kamara to 16 yards on 12 carries in week 1. But he added 5 catches for 51 yards and 2 TD’s. I don’t love him against TB, he’s hard to sit tho.
Tom Brady, Bucs QB ($10,600)
Brady has 17 TD’s with just 1 INT over his last 6 games. This week he’ll have more weapons than he’s had all year with the debut of WR Antonio Brown, and WR Chris Godwin likely returning. Saints Defense give up 28 PPG, bottom 10 in the NFL.
Rob Gronkowski, Bucs TE ($6,400)
Gronk has been great lately, with a TD in each of his last 3 for a combined 14 catches on 20 targets. Brown and Godwin could take away targets but the Saints Defense isn’t good against TE’s, I think he’ll keep it rolling.
Emmanuel Sanders, Saints WR ($5,800)
Sanders is on track to return and was incredible before missing a few weeks on the COVID-19 list. He had 18 catches on 23 targets for 215 yards in his last 2 games. Thomas could take away targets, but I think Sanders will have a good enough game and like his price.
Jared Cook, Saints TE ($5,400)
Cook has picked up a TD in each of his last 3 games (he missed week 6). He’s avg 13 DK FPPG over that time. Again I expect the Saints to be throwing a lot, Bucs D is good against TE’s, but not great.
Tyler Johnson, Bucs WR ($800)
Even with all of these new and returning weapons for TB, I’d still consider Johnson at just $800. He’s picked up 2 TD’s over his last 4 games, avg 8 DK FPPG. (I’d like him more if Godwin was out).
Notes and stuff
With Mike Evans healthy, Brown debuting and Godwin likely returning, I think any of them could have a big game. So I’m considering dodging all 3. If I’m taking one, It’ll likely be Godwin, Evans is very inconsistent when Godwin is in the lineup and who knows with Brown.
I don’t like either defense here, but I like both kickers Ryan Succup & Will Lutz. (Just to be clear, I like them both but I’d only take one).
