PGA Draftkings Tournament picks for the 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic taking place December 3 thru 6th at the El Camaleon Golf Club in Quintana Roo, México
After a rough week at The RSM Classic, I’m hoping to turn it around with DraftKings PGA tournament picks for the Mayakoba Golf Classic. I did barely cash in the only tourney I played with only 3 guys making the cut (that was a first). But it was an ugly week so let’s get to the next.
Last year’s Mayakoba Golf Classic winner was Brendan Todd. Other recent winners include Matt Kuchar, Pat Perez, Harris English, Graeme McDowell and Charley Hoffman.
Draft Kings 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic Top Tournament Picks
Harris English (DK $10,100)
Justin Thomas, Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau are the most expensive players and will all likely be highly owned. So I’m gonna fade them and go with English. I think he’s a bit expensive but that could keep his ownership down. He finished 10th at the CJ Cup in October and 4th at the U.S Open in September. Last year, he finished 5th at this event and won it back in 2013.
Rickie Fowler ($9,500)
Fowler only has one top 25 in his last 9 events. I figure his ownership will be somewhat low, but he’s a big name so we’ll see. He finished 2nd here in 2017, T16 in 2018 and didn’t play in last year’s event.
Emiliano Grillo ($8,300)
Grillo is coming off a missed cut at the Houston Open. Before that he made 9 straight, but only one top 25 finish in his last 7 tourneys. He’s been great here with 3 top 10 finishes over the last 4 years.
Scott Piercy ($7,900)
Piercy’s been inconsistent, but he’s now made his last 4 cuts with two top 20’s. He finished T26 here last year, T6 in 2018 and T4 in 2016.
DK 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic Tournament Value Picks
Pat Perez ($7,300)
Perez missed his last 4 cuts so his ownership should be low. He’s another who has been great here. He won the event in 2016, T6 in 2018 and T8 in 2019.
Brice Garnett ($7,000)
Garnett has made his last 3 cuts and 4 out of his last 5. But with only one finish inside the top 50. He’s been really great here, hasn’t missed a cut in 5 trips, with three top 10’s and an 11th place finish.
Brian Stuard ($6,900)
Stuard has only made one of his last 4 cuts. He finished 3rd at Safeway in September but not much else to talk about. Last year he finished T23 here,
