
In some sad and really untimely news, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns announced today he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss tonight’s huge “Day 1” event.
Roman tweeted, “I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.”
*Update- Brock Lesnar has been added to the WWE Championship match.
“WWE Day 1” airs live January 1, 2022 from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The special will stream on Peacock in the U.S and elsewhere on the WWE Network at 8PM ET.
