PGA DFS Draftkings Tournament picks for the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions taking place January 7th thru 10th at the Kapalua Plantation Course in Hawaii
Welcome or welcome back PGA fans, DFS players and anyone who clicked this by mistake. Below are my DraftKings PGA tournament picks for the upcoming 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions. I’m sure it’ll quickly become obvious for anyone new, I’m no expert and I’m not pretending to be. I just play a crazy amount of DFS and I enjoy doing these…now let’s get to it!
Last year’s Sentry Tournament of Champions winner was Justin Thomas, who also won the event in 2017. Dustin Johnson is another two-time winner here, having won in 2013 & 2018.
PGA DFS 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions DraftKings Top Picks
Jon Rahm (DK $10,400)
Rahm’s finished top 10 here in each of his last 3 trips, including a 2nd place finish in 2018. He’s also finished top 10 in his last two events, with a 2nd place at the ZOZO Championship and 7th at The Masters.
I’m guessing Thomas, Johnson & Xander Schauffele (2019 winner) will be the highest owned players, and maybe Rahm’s ownership won’t be too high. But it’s a small field this week and what the hell do I know, so we’ll see.
Patrick Reed ($9,500)
Reed has 6 straight top 15 finishes including a T3 in his last start, the DP World Tour Championship in December. He won this tourney in 2015, he finished T2 after a playoff in 2020, also T6 in 2017.
I’m thinking Reed’s ownership might not be too high with him priced on DK between Patrick Cantlay & Webb Simpson.
Cameron Champ ($7,900)
Champ recently finished 19th at The Masters and 8th at the ZOZO Championship. The 25 year old has also been really good here, with a T14 finish last year and T11 in 2019. Will he be highly owned? I have no idea, but hopefully not.
PGA 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions DraftKings Value Picks
Ryan Palmer ($7,000)
After missing the cut at the US Open, Palmer finished 34th at Shriners, then 17th at the CJ Cup and most recently 4th at ZOZO Championship. He hasn’t played since October (as far as I know), but he was trending in the right direction, or something like that. He also finished T17 at this event last year.
Andrew Landry ($6,300)
Landry had a rough year but finished it off with a T4 at the RSM Classic. He finished T22 here in 2019, so that’s something. I doubt I’ll be playing anyone in this price range, but if I must, I’ll take a shot on Landry in a tourney.
Notes and Stuff
Brian Gay is another really cheap player I’d consider in a tourney. He’s almost the minimum DK price at $6,100. He won in his last start at the Bermuda Championship and finished T13 here in his last trip back in 2014.
That’s it for now, good luck out there and see on the next edition of…
