Angry In America

With the midterm elections days away, Bill Whitaker examines how social media platforms are amplifying political polarization in America. Tristan Harris, the co-founder of the Center for Humane Technology, argues that Facebook and Twitter rely on the revenue that is generated by the viral nature of angry and inflammatory posts. The essence of the problem, he says, is social media’s business model.

Ready Or Not

Jon Wertheim goes inside the world of preppers, those who stock up and skill up for extreme catastrophes. No longer the sole province of militants and conspiracy theorists, prepping has gone mainstream. More than 15 million Americans are prepping today, intent on surviving disasters as varied as they are frequent. Wertheim travels the country going high and low – 200 feet down, as it were, inside a decommissioned military silo turned luxury bunker – talking to a few of the millions of Americans who have joined the movement about how they prep and why.

Nathalie Sommer and Jacqueline Williams is the producer.

Busses From The Border

Over the past few months, thousands of migrants from Central and South America have made the 2,000-mile journey to New York City on buses chartered and paid for by the states of Texas and Arizona and the city of El Paso. Anderson Cooper examines how New York City has been dealing with the influx of people and some of the glaring problems with the nation’s asylum system that the crisis exposed.

Andy Court is the producer.

DiscussPW is a mix of Pro Wrestling and Entertainment. The site was started in 2016 and has gone through many changes over the years. Our main focus was events and tickets, but then the pandemic happened. We had to mix things up and will now be doing a lot more news. Events will still be covered, just as news instead of on a calendar. This site had an extensive events calendar, which we have moved away from. Pro wrestling has always been our main thing, we also do a lot of entertainment though. For example, we post movie trailers, tv previews and other kinds of news. We have a few discussions but strongly encourage comments on all of our posts. Be sure to keep things civil while commenting. If you have any questions or concerns, contact us above.
